ABOUT ME
In case you missed the giant letters on the website header, my name is Corey and I am a video game sound designer based in Dallas, Tx.
Through my company SkewSound, I have been able to work on a large amount of games in different genres and styles from indie games like Burgle Supply Company, all the way to AAA titles like Fortnite. This has provided me with the singular experience of having multiple games of all types under my belt and the unique perspective to see a bigger picture in game development. This makes me a solid and reliable asset to any team in any genre at any development level. Whether that be small or big.
Another aspect that makes me an asset is that my interests are not just in modern games or even games in general, but my inspiration comes from other sources as well. That includes movies, music, crafting, writing, sports, and even other aspects of game development like 3D modeling, animation or design. This gives me a uncommonly large pool of inspiring creative elements to pull from when designing, keeping ideas fresh, flowing and sometimes fairly left of center or unique.
My goal as a sound designer is to drive story and immersion and have fun doing it. If somewhere in the middle I can throw a bit of my own nostalgic twist in there as well, that’s just a bonus. Having a role as a sound designer means you are more or less pulling the strings of the players experience with a game. So, whether your task is to be serious, lifelike, over the top, silly or even invisible so other elements can take center stage, it's all exciting and rewarding.

-Working closely with audio/creative leads to successfully deliver a custom soundscape for each game, breathing life, context and intention into the world you experience through their lens.
